Karate!

For Trey's birthday we decided to forgo the typical gifts, and instead invested in karate lessons! Our boys could not be happier! The first lesson was a freebie, just to make sure they would enjoy it before we bought the gear! Of course they were over the moon excited! Their teacher is a young, 20 something, stiletto and hair-bow wearing, tough chica! She told me afterwards that Benji was a little power house, and Trey she paired up with herself because he was afraid he would hurt the other kids doing the holds! In their "street clothes". Today they got their official "Gi"s. (Pronounced Gee) They also got their first protective undergarments! I was in the handicap oversized stall in the gym, trying to figure out this alien looking contraption! Baby on the hip, big boys wishing like everything that Daddy was there, (cuz he would know). These things were clearly designed by a man, you step through the straps, but then what is this gap for in the back? I can assure you my boys delighted in thinking of new and hilarious ways of wearing these...things. But I digress. See the little boy on thee floor to the right? I'm not sure what infraction he committed, but the penance is always pushups. After their second lesson today, Miss Tasha said, "Part of class is instilling fitness and respect for authority, I'm going to have to think of a new reason to give your boys something to do, they are so well behaved!" Proud momma moment. At the end of the lesson they had their first belt ceremony. They are officially white belts. Go White Tigers!
