Romany babies

So, I told you we got new littles on Sunday.
Can you see little Ezzy clinging to the sheriff??

 Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday got crazy, so I'll re-cap.
Monday morning we all got up, got dressed, ready for physical therapy and then a little retail therapy!!! (I still have 2 gift cards from my birthday a month ago!!!!)   Then we get a call from the babies social worker, "There is a hearing at 1:30.  I need you to get them to the hospital to be checked out and brought to me here at the office before 1 O'clock!"  So much for a schedule huh?
We rush out the door and head to the hospital who says, "We can see them today but not until 3!!!" So instead we head to the social worker.  She meets is at the back of the building.
*******side vent*********
If you only have children meet you in the back when there is scary stuff going on, make those areas nice!!!! Turn on the lights for heavens sake!  Hang a picture or two! Have music playing! Seriously!!!!
Where was I?
Oh yeah, she meets us at the back of the building and ushers us through some dark hallways and into a bathroom somewhere in the bowels of the building. She took some pictures and asks about some pretty major discrepancies in the intake report.  Evidently the parents do speak English!  Her words were, "...well enough to work at McD's!"  😆. Made me laugh.  Our county is really great, she was very open about where things stood, how she thought things might go, but basically it was just too early to predict an outcome.  So we headed back out tucked the kids back into their seats and headed for lunch.  As we turned the corner and pass in front if the building I see a large group of people, (obviously related to our case) carrying a crying woman back into the building, then we hear the sirens!  Our SW confirmed with a text, "I sorry you all witnessed that, the mom collapsed and they are being admitted to the hospital for dehydration and malnutrition."  😟
Court was re-scheduled for the next day and we took them home to just love on them.

Meanwhile, we have downloaded translation apps to our phones, and are all getting used to eachother.
At court the next day a lg community of "family" showed up to take custody of the children and offer support to the parents.  Here's where we learned all kinds of interesting facts about the Romany people.  How they are a seperate race, abused by their countrymen and basically claiming sanctuary here!   We returned the babies to very boisterous, very happy community Wednesday morning.
It was the first time I've felt really good about returning children.
We were so blessed to have them even for a short amount of time.
