Go to sleep, Go to sleep, Go to sle-ee-ee-ep!!!!

I have mentioned before that The Prince has a hard time sleeping, but I'm not sure I've given y'all the scope of what I mean.

Here's the run down of a typical night two years ago.

8:00pm Start cleaning up the room
8:15pm Find jammies and change diapers
8:30pm Put the Prince to bed, and read him a few books.
8:45pm Lights out, kisses, close the door.
8:46pm Put the Prince back to bed
8:50pm Put the Prince back to bed
8:52pm Go in and break up the tussle going on between the Prince and baby brother
8:55pm Find the Prince wandering through the house, make him spit out the banana peel he found in the trash, put him back in bed.
8:57pm Go in, pull his bed away from the wall, break the bad news about the foot sized hole in the wall to Daddy, put the Prince back to bed.
9:00pm Get the Prince of his dresser, hang the rod back on the wall, pick up the clothes.
9:10pm Change the Prince's diaper, put him back to bed.
9:15pm Go in and whisper loudly, "STOP SCREAMING your baby brother's name!!!!"
Prince: "But he not answer me!!!"
Console the Prince, explain that the baby is just exhausted, and that it's time for bed.
9:20 Knock on his door and tell him to stop doing his motor boat impression.
9:30-11pm Around and Around and Around.
Then there is this deep quiet that settles over the house, and we all finally sleep.
5:30am Run into the room, nearly killing myself on the way down the hall, sure that there is a wild beast in the room with my babies!!!!
No wild beast, but the light is on, and the baby is screaming, the Prince is hiding under his covers shaking and motor boating.
From there the morning is shot. I would try to go in, try to put them back to bed, but by 8am we were all exhausted and just need to give in and start our day.

Then one of the therapists suggested we call a medical supply company.
One of her clients had recently been approved for a "Posey" style bed, and it might be the ticket for us!

This started us on an amazing road.
They understood us!!!!
When I said we were going crazy trying to keep him corralled long enough for him to pass out, they didn't think we were crazy!!!
Matt from Noah's World is AMAZING!!!!

Today our routine looks much different.
PRAISE THE LORD!!!

We have two different kinds of beds.
Noah's World Autism Bed
and a Privacy Pop

We recently had to replace one of our Privacy Pops, and Bed Bath and Beyond was really great about getting it delivered in a quick time frame.
This is the video of how to set it up, and how we use it inside a bed frame.
Privacy Pop set up

Today our nighttime routine is much different.
If you had told me that I would wind up our children, give them something sour to suck on, bounce them, zerbert them, and play for 5 minutes before I put them to bed, I would've said you were nuts!
But the idea is that you give ALL their senses and little love before they go to bed.
The get new diapers,
a sour candy,
climb the stairs using just their arms,
"hide" and wait to be found,
get bounced,
and get kissed and zerberted.

Our Current Routine

Yes, they still talk, scream, giggle, argue for an hour,
but they are all safe in their beds, and we can get downstairs for some big kid time before bed.

We love to read your comments and e-mails!
If you have any questions, or would like me to further explain something, we're happy to talk!
